Discover Santo Domingo, the First City in America. Travel across its most important roads all leading towards ancient edifices and monuments of an invaluable cultural heritage in a modern-day city.
Leaving in comfortable and modern buses; Accompanied by an expert guide, according to the starting point we will visit the three eyes park first (is a cavern that has a freshwater lake, naturally divided into three lakes), then we will go to the modern part of the Capital, and visit the Center of Heroes, where the congress buildings are located nationwide, the city council of the capital, the Dominican Supreme Court of Justice. We will depart by way of the Malecón de Santo Domingo to the Presidential Palace to take photos, from there we will go to the Colonial City and visit the Cathedral of Santo Domingo and the Alcázar de Colon, located in the beautiful Plaza de España, built by Bartolomé Colon, turned into a museum as it looked in those years and with all its original relics.
A walk along the ‘Calle Las Damas’, the most romantic in the city, we will visit the Amber Museum, yellowish brownstone formed by the resin of the trees and whose main characteristic is that it frequently contains fossils of insects and small plants already extinct, it is the national gemstone. We will then have a free time for shopping in different typical gift shops and can buy the famous Limé dolls, handicrafts and Dominican paintings as well as tobacco, rum, and Dominican coffee.
We will finish our tour at the Faro a Colon where the remains of Christopher Columbus rest.
The full-day excursion also includes a delicious lunch in a famous restaurant of Dominican food, to taste our typical dishes.
